Our journey began with heart-wrenching loss after the untimely death of a mutual friend. Noidge (guitar), The PNC (drums) and The Rodfather (bass) started talking about a new musical venture. The goal was something different than any of them had done before, but familiar enough to always feel "among friends".
After the early days of writing music, the trio searched high and low for the right vocal fit. Buddy Rasberry entered with a style all his own and the pieces fell into place. The newness and familiarity that was sought after became a reality. The style shifted as the bandmembers all got to know each other's styles and strengths.
As we continue to compose new material, add depth and nuances to existing works, and record the songs, they are looking forward to sharing this music on stages across the Pacific Northwest in the very near future.
Look for 5 Mile Burn on a stage near you soon!
Through captivating rhythms and soulful rhymes, Buddy vocalizes the transformative power of growth and the beauty found within the process. Upon his arrival, Buddy's melodies instantly elevated the structure, riffs and rhythms that the band was already entrenched in. An immediate profound familiarity (both musically and personally) led to the creation of new works of art, as well as soul-touching renditions of previous works. 5 Mile Burn is excited to be launching forward with Buddy Rasberry as the lead vocalist and frontman.

Noidge began as a drummer in his early teenage years and quickly transitioned to guitar. After an accident at the age of 20, he was forced to relearn how to play without the use of his middle finger. Noidge wrote heavy riffs for years in numerous Pacific Northwest bands before taking a long hiatus from music. Noidge's return to music is demonstrated by being fully invested in 5 Mile Burn. To the delight of his friends, family and fans, Noidge is also Forklift Certified.

Big hooks. Strong arrangements. Solid foundations. Energetic performances. For more than three decades, Rodney (aka The Rodfather) has brought these elements to a variety of Portland-area bands. Starting as a drummer in the 80's before picking up guitar, keyboards and eventually settling in as a bass guitarist, Rodney brings a unique perspective of all these viewpoints to his musical contributions. The Rodfather is thrilled to be playing bass, songwriting and producing with longtime and newly discovered friends in 5 Mile Burn.

The PNC was fortunate enough to grow up in a musical family. His dad began teaching him drums from the tender age of 4-5 years old with 15-20-minute homework lessons 5x a week after dinner. Additionally, at a young age, he attended his Dad’s band practices and helped with gig load-in, taking every opportunity to hop behind the kit and wail away.
Drumming is his passion; it provides magic and an smile unprecedented! He uses his cymbals to musically speak for rise, fall, and dynamics.
In early 2k, he was fortunate enough to meet and become bandmates with The RodFather! The two developed a bond, friendship, and phenomenal musical cohesiveness. This led to high-energy performances and eargasms in their former band.
After a hiatus, The PNC and The Rodfather reconnected and decided to pursue a new musical venture. That new musical venture is now known as 5 Mile Burn! The PNC looks forward and is excited to bang skins at your local PDX venue with 5 Mile Burn
